Continuing Education (11 hours) Mortgage Broker Pre-License (24hrs)

Description :

A Florida licensed Sales Associate or Broker can take this course and if requested can recieve 11 hours of CE credit. You must request this to receive the CE credit. To see class schedule, please view the mortgage broker pre-license course that we offer.
Completion of this 24 Hour pre-license class is required by the state prior to your taking the Mortgage Broker exam. This course prepares you to the take the state exam.
The cost of this course includes a four hour state exam prep and review class. You may take this prep/review class as many times as you wish for up to one year after you have completed this class.

 


Continuing Education (14hrs) Mortgage Broker Correspondence Course

Description :

All Mortgage Brokers, Loan Originators, and Principal Representatives must now complete 14 hours of continuing professional education every two years. Licensed Brokers must complete this requirement prior to the August 31 odd numbered year renewal deadline. Licensees do not need to complete continuing education if it is their first license renewal.

Lenders must certify that their Principal Representatives as well as their associates and loan originators, have completed the required training at the time of their renewal in August, 2008. 

Mortgage Brokerage Businesses are not required to certify continuing education requirements for their associates as each of them are required to do so when they renew their individual mortgage broker license.

At the time of the lender's renewal, the licensee must certify that their principal representative and all loan originators and associates have had at least 14 hours of professional continuing education from an accredited Mortgage Business School within the past 2 years. These loan originators and associates are the same persons that will be reported on licensee's quarterly report when due.

 Mortgage Brokers who are Lender Associates, Principal Representatives or Loan Originators. If you are a licensed Mortgage Broker who works as an independent contractor with a lender, you are an Associate of a Lender. Associates of a Lender must demonstrate completion of 14 hours of professional continuing education at an accredited Mortgage Business School at the time the Associate renews his or her individual Mortgage Broker license. A licensed Lender must also certify that Principal Representatives, Loan Originators, and Associates have satisfied 14 hours of professional continuing education at an accredited Mortgage Business School within 2 years of the date of its renewal. (This does not apply to associates of Mortgage Brokerage Businesses.

Continuing Education (14hrs) Sales Associate and Broker Correspondence Course

Description :
Required by all real estate sales/brokers after their first license renewal every two years.

This class is offered via the mail or students may signup for this course at our Port St. Lucie office in Florida and pick up the material by calling 772-323-2011. This is a correspondence course which meets continuing education requirements for Real Estate Sales Associates & Brokers. Once you have purchased the course, we can either mail you the materials or you may pick them up at out main office. You will complete the course at your leisure. Once finished you send us the test answer sheet which we will grade. If 80% or better is achieved, a completion certificate will be sent to you.This course is offered in three ways:

  • Classroom course is two Tuesdays in February and August and is held at the Realtors Association of St. Lucie. Registration for the classroom course must be done by contacting the Realtors Association of St. Lucie.

Continuing Education (3hrs) Calculator Training Qualifier Plus IIIx

Description :

This training class will cover all the functions used in the trade. The calculator used in this class is the Qualifier IIIx. You will receive supplemental material for use in the class and to take with you for further reference.
 
The 3 hours of this class qualifies for 3 hours real estate continue education.
 


Escrow Management(4hrs) CE Credit

Description :

This class will teach how to establish the Escrow Account (Trust) Account, review the rules pertaining to the Escrow Account, Advance Fees, Unclaimed Funds, Conflicting Demands, Good Faith Doubt, Response to Notification of Conflicting Demands, Settlement Procedures, Disbursement Order and other aspects of escrow account management.
You may earn four hours of CE for Brokers and Sales Associates if you take this class.

Home Inspection Systems & Standards(40hrs)

Legislative Summary                             
 
On June 28, 2007, SB 2234 was passed which requires licensure of home inspectors and mold remediators.**  The bill becomes effective July 1, 2010 and requires that an applicant for Home Inspection:

•  Be of good moral character;

•  Have a high school diploma or its equivalent;

•  Complete a course of study (approved by the department) of no less than 120  hours that covers the following components: structure, electrical, HVAC, roof, plumbing, interiors, exteriors and site conditions that affect the structure;

•  Maintain a commercial general liability insurance policy in an amount not less than $300,000.
•  Apply to the department to take a licensure examination;

Grandfathering Clause:  A person who performs home inspection services may qualify to be licensed if the person meets the licensure requirements of this bill by July 1, 2010.


Continuing Education:  Licensees are required to obtain 14 hours of CE every two years.

County of Charlotte: There are specific Home Inspection requirements in the County of Charlotte in Florida.  
To become a home inspector applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
1. The applicant currently posseses an active FL license as a professional engineer, architect, general contractor, building contractor, residential contractor, building code administrator or building official or has maintained one or more of the above licenses for a combined total of 4 years during the 10-year period immediately preceding the application;
2. The applicant (1) currently possesses an active FL license as a building code inspector or building inspector or has maintained one or more of the above licenses for a combined total of 4 years during the 10-year period immediately preceding the application, and (2) has obtained a grade of 75% or better on the ASHI exam;
3. The applicant (1) has produced proof satisfactory to the board that he has 3 years experience in a building trade or as a home inspector or a combined total of 3 years in those fields, and (2) has obtained a grade of 75% or better on the NHIE exam.
